Hiya!
Today I am going to show you two cute hairstyles that you can rock at school. They are super easy and only take up 3-5 minutes of your morning routine. Your hair is your greatest accessory, so why not style it?
If you guys did not notice, I cut my hair! It was a pretty dramatic chop because I have been growing out my hair for a year and a half. I wanted a new change, especially because I was going to college and starting a new life away from home. Although these hairstyles are done on my newly chopped hair, they are good for all hair lengths. Don't be afraid to try them out!
Materials:
Comb
Bobby Pins (A LOT of them)
Hair Ties
Milkmaid Updo
This is perfect hairdo if you're feeling extra fancy for the day.
Step 1. Use a comb to section your hair down the center into two equal parts
Step 2. Tie one section with a hair tie and work on a dutch braid with the other section. Tying the other section helps keep the hair separate so that you don't take hair from the other side. It's my insider tip when it comes to braiding!
Step 3. After finishing the dutch braid on one side, tie it off. Take apart the other section and work on a dutch braid as well. Tie it off as well. They should be two braided pigtails.
Step 4. Wrap the braids around your head and secure them into place with bobby pins. Make sure to have the rigid side of the bobby pin facing your scalp with the flat side exposed. Try your best to hide the bobby pins when securing the braids.
Step 5. Once the braids are secured, remove the hair ties and secure the ends of the braid to your scalp as well. Try not to secure any pieces of hair sticking out. You want this look like a crown of braids, not a crown of thorns! Lastly, to frame the face, pull out strands of hair in the front to finish the look.
Twisted Half Up Half Down
Want to look casual, but polished? This is the hairdo for you!
Step 1. Take one section for one half of the crown of your head for the twist.
Step 2. Once you have the section, split the section and half and begin twisting.
Step 3. Pull the twist to add volume and tie it off. Make sure to hold the twist to prevent the twist from coming apart. Because you need both hands to do the twist for the other half of the crown of your head, my recommendation is to hold your twist with your mouth (kinda gross I know)/ clamp it with a clip so that the twist doesn't come apart.
Step 4. Do the twist to the other side and wrap both twists across the head. Use bobby pins to secure it into place. Pull some strands of hair to frame the face and the look is finished.
Peace out summer! |
Good Luck,
Em
