Falling in Style: DIY Candy Corn Banner

It's finally fall and Halloween is just around the corner. These next two months I will be doing a series of all things fall. I love this season so much and I thought that it would be awesome to kick it off and transform this blog from Life in Style to "Falling" in Style. Get it? The puns are terrible, but stick around with me and you will get used to it soon enough. :)

I am not a morbid person (*wink wink* SAT vocab), but that doesn't prevent me from finding ways to decorate my house for Halloween. I'm going to show you how to make a Candy Corn Banner. Who doesn't love candy corn?!? It's super cute to use for decorating the walls or the front of your house and really easy to make. Let's get started!

Materials:
-Cardstock
-Scissors
-Orange and Yellow Paint
-Paintbrush
-Thread
-Needle

Cut your cardstock into large circles.

Using your paintbrush, paint a thick orange ring on the outer edge of the circle.

After letting that first layer dry. Add a yellow ring inside of the orange ring. Make sure the orange and yellow paint do not make contact with one another. Take your time when doing this step.

Cut the circle up into 6 equal triangles.
I wanted my candy corns not to be as pointy so I rounded the edges with my trusty scissors.

I poked holes with a needle to put the thread through. Another alternative to this is to use a hole puncher. I wanted my holes to be really small so I chose to go with a needle.

I used black thread to thread the candy corns through the holes. Hide the thread in the back of the candy corn so it is not visible.

That's it! You're done. I hung this really cute banner on the walls of my house. I hope you guys like it. There will be more fall tutorials coming soon, so stay updated!

Good Luck,
Em
