DIY Lavender Bath Salts

Hello there! I'm super excited to share with you this super simple gift idea. It's pretty cool if I say so myself. Let's be real here, life is stressful. Especially when there is so many tests just popping out of nowhere. Sometimes we need to wind down, relax, and relieve that stress. I'm going to show you a way to treat yourself with these beautiful and relaxing bath salts. Let's get started!!!

What you'll need:

  • 1 cup of Epsom Salt
  • 2-4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 2 Tbsp of Lavender Buds (Optional)
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Soap Colorant (Optional)
  • Glass Jar

First pour in the Epsom salt into a mixing bowl and add the lavender essential oil. This aroma is perfect for soothing headaches and relieving stress. Depending on how strong you want the scent to be, add as many drops as you desire. Trust me, a little goes a long way.

Mix with a Popsicle stick thoroughly. Epsom salt tends to stick together so try to break up all of the lumps.

Add the soap colorant. I think it looks eye-catching if you add some color to the bath salts, but this is completely optional. Try to stay away from using food coloring as a substitute. Food coloring can stain your skin, but soap colorant is stain-free.

Fold in the Lavender buds into the mixture. I'm in love with these lavender buds because it gives that extra pop to the presentation of the gift and it strengthens the scent of the bath salt. This is optional as well, but highly recommended.

Place your mixture into a jar.

Voila! You are finished! (Happy Dancing)

These bath salts are looking really fancy ;)

The Jar- It's important to make sure that the packaging of any gift looks presentable. For these bath salts, find a glass jar to store them in. I used a ribbon and glued it around the edge of the cap for a finished look. Always consider the color scheme for your gift. Because I made lavender bath salts, I went with a cool color theme of blues and purples because of the soothing and relaxing tones. I also created a card stock label right on the top to glue onto the cap so that the receiver of the gift know exactly what it is.

Instructions for use:

Fill your tub up half-way with warm water. Under the running water, grab a handful of the salt and gently pour it in to allow it to fall with the water into the tub. Make sure to stir your bath salt in the water so that it completely dissolves. The fragrances should be released into the steam to give that relaxing aroma.

Good Luck,
Em
